So many important dialogues are happening in workplaces across the globe, and though I see it as an indicator of progress, there is still so much work to do to create equity and inclusion for POC employees. I want to take a small slice out of something I’d like to encourage any light-skinned NVC practitioners to be especially conscientious of. Paying attention to the difference between intention and impact.
What do you say when someone lets you know you said something they found triggering or painful? Can you be with them? Or do you have the knee-jerk tendency of focusing on how you didn’t mean to hurt them?
